Troubleshooting

Answers to the most common problems.

Account and payment

I signed up but never got the verification email.

Check your spam folder, then click Resend email (once a minute). Signing up again with the same email and password also sends a new link. Links expire after 24 hours. See Account and sign-in.

Sign-in says “Verify your email before signing in”.

Open the most recent link we emailed you. Each new link cancels the older ones.

I paid, but the AI panel is still locked.

Bank and Telebirr receipts are reviewed, usually within about 30 minutes; Pro turns on by itself once approved. Make sure you uploaded the receipt in the checkout and that you're signed in to the account you paid from. See Billing and Pro.

My receipt was rejected.

The checkout shows the reason. Upload a clearer screenshot or statement; you can upload 3 per day.

My student ID is still being reviewed, or I sent the wrong photo.

IDs are checked by hand and you're emailed the result. Until then you can send a better one: on the Student card, click Replace student ID, choose the file, and click Submit for review. It takes the place of the one waiting. See Billing and Pro.

My student ID was approved, but the AI panel is still locked.

Approval lets you buy the Student plan; Pro starts once you pay. Click Choose Student and pay the Student price in the checkout.

I was added to a team, but I don't have Pro.

Sign in to Lamied with exactly the email address the team owner added, and verify it if you haven't. Pro lasts as long as the owner's Team plan does, so ask the owner if it has run out. The owner can check who is on the team under AI settings → Team.

My promo code doesn't work.

Codes can be used once, and must be redeemed within 30 days of being issued. Type it exactly, as LAMIED-XXXX-XXXX. If it's still refused, email the address that sent it to you.

AI assistant

I'm signed in with Pro, but the assistant is locked.

Your Pro time may have ended. Each payment adds one month. A GitHub sign-in or a provider API key doesn't unlock Pro on its own.

The assistant can't see my files.

Open the project folder with File → Open Folder (not just a single file), save your edits, and mention the file by name.

Requests fail after I added my own API key.

Check the key in AI settings and that your provider account has credit and access to the chosen model. Try /model and pick another model. See Models and providers.

Lamied (Team plan) shows no models, or says it needs the Team plan.

Lamied-hosted models come with the Team plan, as its owner or as a member. Check you're signed in to the account on the team, then open AI settings and save Lamied (Team plan) again. See Models and providers.

Hosted models stopped: “Your team has used all ETB … of this month's Lamied-hosted models”.

Your team has used this month's allowance. It renews on the 1st of the next month. Until then, switch to your own API key with /model. The line above the message box shows how much is left at any time.

Lamied says it can't save my API key.

Keys are only stored encrypted by your system's credential store. On Linux, install and unlock a keyring such as GNOME Keyring or KWallet, then try again.

Why does the assistant keep asking to run commands?

Commands need approval unless you allow them for the workspace. Approving a plan doesn't approve its commands. See Plan Mode and approvals.

The assistant changed something I didn't want.

Type /undo, or click ↩ on your message. See Checkpoints and undo.

The assistant started my app. Where is it running, and how do I stop it?

Once a command the assistant runs starts listening on a port, Lamied keeps it running in the background, and the command's row in the chat shows the address, for example Running in the background at http://localhost:3000. It stays up after the task ends. Open the address in your browser or the Preview tab, and ask the assistant to stop it when you're done, or close Lamied. If the row says the address isn't responding, the command is still running but your app didn't start; its output in the chat shows why. See Using the AI assistant.

Editor

Autocomplete stopped suggesting.

Check it's on in AI settings → Editor. If the provider rejected a request, suggestions pause for 15 seconds. If they're slow, choose a faster model with /fim. They never appear in secret files like .env. See Autocomplete.

No red squiggles, hover or go to definition.

Install your language in the Extensions view, then turn language servers on for the workspace. See Extensions and language servers.

A file I expected is missing from the Complexity Dashboard.

On the Complexity tab it may not be analyzed yet: files are analyzed 25 at a time, so scroll to the end of the list or click Load 25 more at the bottom of the panel. Otherwise it may be in .lmignore, a dependency or hidden folder, over 512 KB, or in an unsupported language; the summary counts skipped files. On the Network tab, only files that make network or database calls are listed. See Complexity analysis.

A function's complexity says unknown.

Lamied couldn't work out a bound and says why instead of guessing, for example a while (true) loop that waits for events, functions that call each other, or recursion inside a loop. The reason is in the card's Why section. The rest of the file is still estimated. See Complexity analysis.

Git and workflows

GitHub sign-in expired.

Click the GitHub icon in Source Control and approve the new device code in your browser.
