Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Lamied (“we”) collects when you use the Lamied website, the Lamied desktop app and Lamied Pro, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to [email protected].

What stays on your computer

Lamied is a desktop app. Your files and code stay on your computer: the editor, search, terminal, Git, complexity analysis and network analysis all run locally. API keys for AI providers are encrypted by your operating system's credential store, saved only on your computer and never sent to us. Your settings and the checkpoints the assistant saves are stored on your computer too.

Information you give us

  • Your account. Your email address, your password and, if you add one, your phone number. We use them to create your account, verify your email address, sign you in and keep the account secure. Each phone number can belong to only one account.
  • Bank and Telebirr payments. The receipt you upload (a screenshot or statement) and the transaction reference, if you add one, used only to confirm your payment. An approved receipt is deleted as soon as it is approved; a rejected one is deleted after 7 days.
  • Your subscription. When your Pro time starts and ends, your payments, and the promo codes you redeem.
  • Messages. If you email us, for support or to apply for financial aid, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you.

AI and embedding providers you choose

The AI features send your prompts, the relevant code and tool output to the provider you configure, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, Mistral, NVIDIA or AddisAI, or to a model running on your own computer. With your own API key, these requests go from the app straight to that provider. Its terms and privacy policy apply, and it bills you for its usage.

  • Autocomplete sends the code around your cursor, the file's name and its language.
  • Codebase indexing with embeddings, if you set it up, sends chunks of your code to Voyage AI.
  • The contents of secret files, such as .env files, private keys and credential files, are never sent.

Information the app and website handle

  • The app connects to our servers, hosted by Fly.io, to sign you in, check your Pro status and receive subscription updates, and checks our website for new versions.
  • The website uses no advertising or analytics trackers and sets no cookies for visitors. Site administrators get a sign-in cookie.
  • Like any website, our hosting and network providers (Vercel and Cloudflare for the website, Fly.io for our servers) process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse.
  • Download buttons take you to GitHub, which stores the installer files and receives your download request.
  • On the Videos page, thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers. The player itself loads only when you press play, in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
  • We send account emails, such as email verification, through an email delivery provider.

How we use information

We use the information above to provide Lamied and Lamied Pro, to confirm payments, to prevent fraud and abuse, to answer your messages and to tell you about important changes to the service. We don't sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Receipts are deleted as described above. We keep account and subscription records while your account exists, and payment records for as long as accounting rules require. To delete your account, email [email protected].

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. You can remove an API key from the app at any time, and you can keep prompts and code on your computer by using a local model.

Security

Connections to our website and servers are encrypted with HTTPS. To report a security issue, see Report a vulnerability.

Children

Lamied isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll publish the new version here and update the date at the top.
