Terminal and bottom panel
The integrated terminal, Problems, Output, and the live Preview.
The bottom panel sits under the editor. Show or hide it with Ctrl` (the backtick key, under Esc), or View → Terminal. It has four tabs.
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Terminal | A real shell, running in your workspace folder. |
| Output | Messages from Lamied: saves, failed saves, accepted or rejected AI edits, checkpoint restores. |
| Preview | A live view of a local web app, such as your dev server on localhost:3000. |
| Problems | Not used yet: errors and warnings show as squiggles in the editor instead. See Extensions and language servers. |
Terminal
- Click the Terminal tab. The first time, Lamied starts your usual shell, in the open workspace folder.
- Everything a normal terminal does works here: run tests, start servers, use git, install packages.
- The colors follow your editor theme.
- To end the session, click × (Kill terminal session) at the right of the panel. Opening the tab again starts a fresh shell.
Output
The Output tab is Lamied's log. It opens by itself when something needs your attention, such as a file that failed to save or a checkpoint restore that left an unsaved tab alone.
Preview
- Start your app's development server, in the Terminal tab or any other terminal.
- Open the Preview tab. It loads
http://localhost:3000by default. - Type another address (for example
localhost:5173) and press Enter or Go.http://is added if you leave it out. - ⟳ reloads the page. ↗ opens it in your default browser.
Some sites refuse to be shown inside another app and appear blank here. Use ↗ to open those in your browser. For repeatable checks against fake API responses, use Scenario Lab.
